Maruti Ciaz moves to NEXA from April 1

Ciaz-NEXA

Owing to its success, Maruti Suzuki has promoted the Ciaz sedan to the Nexa retail chain from April 1, 2017. As with all the premium cars, the badging system will change, and the sedan will not have the variant badge. Picture here.

Similar to the S-Cross, Baleno and Ignis, the Ciaz sold through Nexa chain will come in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. The existing Maruti dealers will continue to sell the Ciaz until their stocks last.

Launched in 2014, MSIL has sold over 60,000 units of Ciaz during April-February (2016-17), registering a growth of 22%. Currently, the Nexa channel accounts for around 12% of MSIL’s total sales.

Moving to Nexa, there wont be any mechanical or feature changes. The Ciaz will continue to offer projector headlamps, leather seat upholstery, auto AC, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, reversing camera, dual airbags and ABS. However, there’ll be a ‘Nexa Blue’ exterior color option.

Engine choices will still continue to be 1.4 litre (1,373 cc) petrol and 1.3 litre (1,248 cc) DDiS 200 diesel with SHVS mild hybrid system. Both engines are paired to a 5-Speed manual as standard, and petrol gets a 4-Speed AT option.

RS Kalsi, Executive director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said that the existing Ciaz customers will get the same experience as Nexa customers from now on.
