Bosch resumes work at Adugodi & Koramangala facilities, Bengaluru

Bosch-Adugodi

The Bellandur lake in Bengaluru is notorious for its frothing and catching fire every now and then. Since a long time, environmentalists and activists in the city have been pressuring the Govt and the concerned departments to take action and clean up the heavily polluted lake. As a result, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) had issued a notification to temporarily shut down all industrial units within the catchment area of the lake until an investigation is made.

One of the companies received such a notification was the Bosch facility in Adugodi which is over 60 years old. Bosch complied to the notification and responded that the company has been operating within the prescribed environmental norms. The company made a representation clarifying the points raised in the notice, after which the pollution control board authorities cleared that the order would not be applicable to the two facilities, giving a green signal to resume work.

“As a socially responsible organisation the Bosch Group upholds the highest standards of environment protection and legality. Necessary sewage and effluent treatment measures have been implemented and are operational. We follow standards as has been defined globally. Having received clarification from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Bosch will commence operations at its location in Adugodi and Koramangala,” stated Soumitra Bhattacharya, president, Bosch Group India.
