Peugeot Sport, the motorsport division of the French carmaker has revealed the L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo. As the name suggests, its for the Gran Turismo Sport video game slated to be released later this month.

On 30 May 1916, Dario Resta drove his Peugeot L45 to victory at the legendary Indianapolis 500 race, with an average speed of 135 km/h. 100 years later, to celebrate the centenary, Peugeot Sport presented the L500 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo in May 2016. The L750 R is the ultimate, sleeker, sportier version of the L500 R, says Peugeot.

The L750 R packs an ICE and an electric motor. The petrol engine produces 580 hp and revs up to 10,000 rpm, while the electric motor produces 170 hp, giving the L750 R a total system output of 750 hp. Gearbox is a 7-speed sequential.

Independent front and rear suspensions vary the ride height according to the car’s speed. Weighing just 825 kg—175 kg lighter than the L500 R Hybrid—it gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, said the company.

Unlike the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo, Peugeot don’t seem to be thinking anything more than the video game.
