While the words “insane” or “crazy” is an understatement, this life-size LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is real and drivable too. This one has much more detailing than the 1:8 scale they built recently.

All thanks to over 1,000,000 LEGO Technic elements and 13,438 man hours spent on development and construction. The complex outer ‘skin’ structure is built of interconnected triangular segments made into a LEGO Technic ‘fabric’ designed to mimic the shapes of the real Chiron. The headlights have the same animated sequence as the real one.

Packed with 2,304 motors and 4,032 LEGO Technic gear wheels, the engine of this pixelated car apparently generates 5.3 hp and an estimated torque of 92 Nm. Another crazy fact is that the weight of this 1:1 LEGO Chiron is 1,500 kg.

Interiors get a functional speedometer built entirely from LEGO Technic elements. While it may not match the real Chiron’s 420 km/h speed, the LEGO Technic’s power function motors can manage to propel it to around 20 km/h. The rear spoiler is functional too.
