Isuzu MU-X facelift launched at Rs 26.27 lakh

2018 Isuzu MU-X facelift

Isuzu has launched the facelifted MU-X in India, priced at Rs 26,26,842 for the 4×2 variant and Rs 28,22,959 for the 4×4. Both prices are ex-showroom, Hyderabad. The new MU-X made its debut in the Chinese market last year.

According to Isuzu, the refreshed front fascia is inspired by an Eagle, which adds an aggressive and dominating stance to the SUV. The designers have retained the signature Isuzu grille design. Either side of the grille is a new Bi-LED auto-leveling projector headlamp with integrated light-guide and DRL.

The rear of the vehicle features refreshed taillights with accentuated LED position lights, a roof spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. Rounding off the exterior looks are 18-inch multi-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Not a whole lot has changed on the inside compared with the outgoing model, except for some trim elements on the dashboard and doors, and ‘Lava Black’ premium upholstery and quilted leather seats. Isuzu has used soft-touch materials for the dashboard and door trims. The model in China gets a fresh interior layout.

Other features inside include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted sound system with 8 speakers, automatic climate control, power-adjustable & foldable ORVMs, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, 3 USB ports, and Day/night interior rearview mirror.

As for the safety, the MU-X gets a total of 6 airbags, 4-channel ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), ESC, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and disc brakes at all four corners.

Powertrain
Powering the MU-X is the same 3.0-litre in-line 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, with an output of 177 hp at 3600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque from 1800 to 2800 rpm. As before, the transmission is a 5-speed automatic featuring ‘Terrain Command’ control with a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system. It gets 2-High, 4-High and 4-Low range.
