The BMW M5 has always fascinated the enthusiasts and although based on the 5 Series, it has managed to earn an independent model status. The M5 is celebrating 35 years of performance with a special edition.

Based on the M5 Competition, the M5 Edition 35 Years is finished in Frozen Dark Grey metallic paintwork which apparently has a special pigmentation to create a silk matt effect. New Graphite Grey 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Y spoke design, and standard M compound brake system finished in high-gloss black round off the exterior looks. Buyers can opt for M carbon ceramic brake system with brake calipers finished in gold.

The driver is welcomed to the interiors with door sill finishers bearing the inscription “M5 Edition 35 Jahre”. The special edition gets M multifunction seats, BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in black with beige contrast seams, gold anodized aluminum carbon trim elements, and “M5 Edition 35 Jahre 1/350” engraving on the centre console.

Rest of the vehicle is the M5 Competition as we know it. The 4.4 V8 TwinPower Turbo petrol engine puts out 625 hp and a peak torque of 750 Nm. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels via M xDrive AWD system. An Active M Differential is present on the rear axle.

Aimed at car collectors, the M5 Edition 35 Years will be produced in a limited series of 350 units and will be available from July 2019.
