BMW has launched the MINI John Cooper Works Hatch in India, priced at Rs 43,50,000 ex-showroom, Pan India. The 3-door hatch will be available at all MINI dealerships as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) from June onwards.

Visually, the JCW Hatch looks pretty similar to the JCW Pro Edition that we saw in 2017. The John Cooper Works bonnet stripes add a race-inspired look. Exterior features include an aerodynamic front bumper with large air intakes, 17-inch JCW Track Spoke light alloy wheels, calipers in Chilli Red with John Cooper Works badge, rear spoiler, and chrome tailpipes. LED headlamps are standard as well.

Inside, the Hatch gets JCW sport seats with integrated headrests in Carbon Black Dinamica leather and red accents. Other features include JCW door sills, JCW stainless steel pedal caps, Head-Up Display, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. Driver Assistance Systems include Park Distant Control and Rear View Camera as standard.

Options include MINI Wired package that comprises of an 8.8-inch touchscreen, Navigation System Professional, wireless charging and 2nd USB interface; Apple CarPlay; MINI Excitement Pack featuring exterior MINI Logo projection, LED interior and ambient lighting which illuminates the cabin with a choice 12 selectable colours; and a panoramic glass roof.

Powering the JCW Hatch is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that offers 231 hp and a maximum torque of 320 Nm, good enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.1 seconds. Transmission is an 8-speed Sports Steptronic automatic with paddles, sending power to the front wheels.

In addition to the standard Mid mode, there is a choice of Sport and Green modes. Sport Mode sharpens the steering and acceleration for sportier, more agile handling, BMW said. The Hatch also gets JCW-tuned sports suspension.

Safety kit includes dual front airbags, ABS, Brake Assist, 3-point seat belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, Crash Sensor, and run-flat tyres as standard

Exterior paint choices include Chilli Red, Electric Blue, Emerald Grey, Melting Silver, Midnight Black, Pepper White, Solaris Orange, Starlight Blue, Thunder Grey and White Silver and in the exclusive John Cooper Works Rebel Green – a modern take on the classic British Racing Green.
