Kia-Seltos

Kia Motors has commenced mass production of the Seltos SUV in India ahead of its launch on August 22, 2019, and the first unit rolled off the assembly line at the company’s facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The SUV made its global debut in India on June 20, 2019, and is already on display at the dealerships across the country.

The pre-bookings were commenced 3 weeks ago and apparently, the Seltos has received 23,000+ bookings so far. An attractive design language and “Badass By Design” marketing campaign seems to be drawing the buyers to the new Kia outlets.

Besides a striking design language including “Crown Jewel LED headlamps with Heartbeat DRLs”, other features of the Seltos for the Indian market include crystal cut alloy wheels, LED taillamps, 10.25-inch HD touchscreen, 8.0-inch Head-Up Display, ventilated & power seats, 8-speaker Bose audio, and Ambient Mood Lighting. Safety kit includes 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

The Seltos in India is expected to be powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, and another 1.4-litre turbo petrol option as well. Depending on the engine, transmissions will be a 6-speed manual, CVT, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed DCT.
