Tata Motors has bagged a contract to supply 300 electric buses to Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL). Tata Motors claims to be the only OEM in the country to bag such a big order. The company will supply Urban 9/9 Electric buses to be deployed in Ahmedabad’s BRTS corridor.
Tata Motors will set up the required infrastructure including fast charging and support system as well. The company also said that the components for the buses including the electric motors have been sourced from best-in-class suppliers in the USA, Germany, and China.

The buses have been tested and validated across states including Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Assam and Maharashtra to establish performance in diverse terrains, the company added.
