Tata Tigor EV extended range launched at Rs 9.44 lakh

The Tata Tigor EV has now got more range, with prices starting at Rs 9.44 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The price includes Indian Government’s FAME India Scheme Phase-II incentive (of Rs 2,15,000) for commercial buyers. The Tigor EV is offered in 3 variants. While the previous versions were offered only for Government and fleet operators, this updated one is now available to private buyers too as a personal car.

Thanks to a larger 21.5 kWh battery pack (up from 16.2 kWh), the Tigor EV now offers a range of up to 213 km (up from 142 km) on a single charge as per MIDC (Modified Indian Driving Cycle). The normal charging time from 0 – 100 percent is claimed to happen in 11.5 hours. With a 15 kW charger, 0 – 80 percent charge is claimed to happen in 2 hours.

Features include 14-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps, auto AC, all four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Harman audio system, and 2.5-inch driver information display. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt pretensioners & load limiters, and speed sensing auto door lock. Download Tigor EV brochure here.

No changes in the powertrain side. The 72-volt 3-phase AC induction motor puts out 30 kW (41 hp) at 4,500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. The EV offers Eco and Sport driving modes too.

The Tigor EV is available in 3 colors – Pearlescent white, Egyptian blue and Roman silver.

Do note that the prices mentioned above are for commercial buyers; prices for private buyers will be more. Either way, Tata Motors is offering a warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh km, whichever is earlier.
