Audi has launched its flagship SUV, the Q8 in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.33 Crore, ex-showroom. The SUV will be available only in one variant in the country.

The Q8 made its global debut back in June 2018 as a new member of the Q family. It sported a new design language with a massive 3D grille, slim headlamps, a continuous light bar at the rear and a sloping roofline that looked more appealing than the business looks of the pre-facelifted Q7. In my opinion, the Q7 facelift still scores less in the looks department compared to the Q8.

Back to the Q8 then. Internationally, there are multiple engine choices for the Q8. There’s even a 435 hp diesel-powered SQ8 and recently, we saw the 600 hp RS Q8 as well, which is as powerful as the Urus.

For the Indian market, however, the Q8 will be powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 (turbocharged petrol) engine that puts out 250 kW (340 hp) between 5,000 – 6,400 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,370 – 4,500 rpm. Transmission is taken care of by an 8-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels. The SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 250 km/h (limited).

The Audi Q8 also boasts a mild-hybrid technology. Read more about the regular Q8 and check out more pictures here.
