As mentioned in the previous post, the Hyundai Aura is a sedan version of the Grand i10 Nios (3rd gen i10). The first half of the car looks more or less the same as the hatchback while the other half looks as if it came from something different altogether, especially when you look at the car’s side profile.

Depending on the variant, features on the exterior include projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED taillamps, Shark Fin antenna, and 15-inch Diamond-Cut alloy wheels. While the blacked-out B-pillar is standard except for the base variant, the C-pillar black-out appears to be standard across all variants. It’s the latter which seems to be messing with the looks of the car.

The dashboard is similar to the aforementioned hatchback. The all-Black interior with Red inserts is exclusive to the turbo petrol variant. Depending on the variant, features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, Arkamys Premium Sound, auto AC, wireless smartphone charging, and cruise control.

Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, driver & passenger seat belt pretensioners & load limiters, rear camera, and front projector fog lamps. Download the Aura brochure here.

The Aura offers a choice of three engines. The 1.2-litre (1,197 cc) 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine produces 83 hp at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This output reduces to 69 hp and 95 Nm with CNG. For those who want a torquey diesel, there is the 1.2-litre (1,186 cc) 3-cylinder U2 CRDi engine which produces 75 hp at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm.

For turbocharged petrol engine enthusiasts, there’s a 1.0-litre (998 cc) 3-cylinder Turbo GDi unit on offer, which produces 100 hp at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm.

The transmission is a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
