Fisker has revealed some more details on the Ocean electric SUV that was unveiled earlier this month at the CES 2020. To begin with, Fisker expects the production to commence by the end of 2021 with first deliveries starting in 2022. Reservations are being accepted for $250 for either purchasing outright or leasing. The SUV starts at $37,499 before the U.S. federal tax credit.

The SUV measures 4,640 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,615 mm in height. The 566 liters (20 cu ft) of trunk space can be increased to 708 liters (25 cu ft) with the parcel shelf removed. Folding down the rear seats further expands that capacity to 1,274 liters (45 cu ft).

20-inch wheels will be a standard fit while up to 22-inch ones will be available as an option. Fisker says that there’ll be roof rails and towing hook options.

As mentioned previously, the interiors are about sustainability. The carpeting is made from regenerated nylon, which comes from abandoned fishing nets. The upholstery and textures are made from polyester fibers (T-shirts, fibers), recycled bottles and other plastics. Features would include a 9.8-inch digital instrument display and a large 16-inch touchscreen infotainment in the middle.

Fisker said that the Ocean will utilize discarded rubber waste generated during tire manufacturing that would otherwise be dumped in landfills.

Except for the base model, the Fisker Ocean will be offered as an AWD SUV with an output of over 225 kW (306 hp). The ultra-high performance version targets a 0-60 mph (96.5 km/h) acceleration time of 2.9 seconds.

The 80 kWh battery pack is claimed to deliver a range of up to 300 miles (480+ km). As for charging, the Ocean features a CCS Type 2 Combo plug. More than 200 miles (320+ km) of range can be achieved from 30 minutes of charging (from 15% to 80% capacity), Fisker said.
