McLaren has announced that it has suspended production at its UK manufacturing facilities with immediate effect until the end of April 2020.

We are taking this action to ensure the safety of our workforce in light of the latest Government advice and so that the company is well placed to resume operations as smoothly as possible in the future.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a lockdown on Monday. “From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction – you must stay at home,” Johnson said.

However, he said that people could come out for shopping for basic necessities such as food or medicine or going to work if it’s absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home. People could also come out for “one form of exercise a day – for example – a run, walk or cycle – alone or with members of your household,” or if someone (dependent) is ill and needs to be taken care of.

In other news, sadly, Prince Charles, 71, has tested positive for novel coronavirus. According to reports, the heir to the British throne is displaying mild symptoms but remains in good health. He’s now self-isolating in Scotland. His wife Camilla, 72, has also been tested for the virus and is negative.
