Mahindra-owned South Korean brand SsangYong has updated its Tivoli crossover for the UK market, with prices starting at £13,995. It features styling updates and a revised set of engines.

The styling updates are subtle and look tasteful. The revised front & rear fascias feature new headlamps, new fog lamps, and new taillamp detailing. The range-topping ‘Ultimate’ trim boasts 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The refreshed interior, depending on the variant, features a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone auto AC, heated front seats, and a host of passive and active safety features including 7 airbags, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).

SsangYong claims to have improved noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and driving dynamics too.

Powering the Tivoli in the UK are two turbocharged petrol and one turbocharged diesel engines. The 1.2-litre (1,197 cc) 3-cylinder petrol engine produces 128 hp at 5,000 rpm and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque between 1,750-3,500 rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. There’s also a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine on offer, which produces 163 hp at 5,500 rpm and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque between 1,500-4,000 when paired with a 6-speed manual transmission; when paired with a 6-speed automatic, the torque drops to 260 Nm (192 lb-ft).

For those who want diesel power, there’s a Euro 6D-compliant 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit on offer, producing 136 hp at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque between 1,500-3,000 rpm when paired with a 6-speed manual transmission; when paired with a 6-speed automatic, the torque jumps to 324 Nm (239 lb-ft) between 1,500-2,500 rpm. Apparently, the 1.2L petrol Tivoli is the fastest with a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h).

SsangYong is offering 7-year or 150,000 miles (241,401 km) warranty.
