New BMW S 1000 XR launched in India at Rs 20.90 lakh

BMW Motorrad India has launched the new S 1000 XR in the country in a ‘Pro’ variant, priced at Rs 20,90,000, ex-showroom. The motorcycle is being imported to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU), and is available in Ice Grey and Racing Red options.

Highlights of the S 1000 XR include all-LED lighting, adjustable windscreen, 6.5-inch color TFT screen with BMW Motorrad connectivity, latest generation Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), ABS Pro, and four standard riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. Powering the motorcycle is a 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that develops 121 kW (165 hp) at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm (84 lb-ft) of torque at 9,250 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with anti-hopping clutch. A 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is claimed to take 3.3 seconds while the top speed is over 200 km/h (124 mph).
