Mini has updated the Cooper lineup for 2021, including the 3- and 5-door hatchbacks, Cooper S Convertible, and the all-electric Cooper SE as well. Besides a new front fascia, the cabin has been updated with new technology.

Exterior highlights for the lineup include standard LED headlights, standard LED taillights with Union Jack detailing, a new front bumper with “Air Curtain” intakes, new side scuttles with model-specific inserts, new 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, and three new paint finishes: Rooftop Grey, Island Blue and Zesty Yellow. The optional Piano Black package now covers more elements including front grille surround, door handles, side scuttles, fuel lid, logos and badges. For those who’re wondering where the front fog lights go, well, they’ve been integrated within the main headlight housing.

Also new is ‘Multitone Roof’, which in the example above is essentially a color gradient from San Marino Blue through Pearly Aqua to Jet Black, created with a new painting technique. The three shades are applied one after the other in a wet-on-wet painting process, and the final finish is known as Spray Tech.

Updates in the cabin include standard 5-inch driver display, standard 8.8-inch central touchscreen, redesigned air vents, and new materials and upholsteries. Options include Nappa leather steering wheel, heating function for the steering wheel, ambient lighting, and electric parking brake. The driver assistance systems have been expanded with Lane Departure Warning and ACC Stop & Go.

No mechanical changes, the facelifted lineup carries over the existing powertrains including the all-electric Cooper SE with 184 metric hp output and so are the JCW variants with 231 metric hp.
