New Tata Safari production begins in Pune

2021-Tata-Safari-production-begins

Tata Motors has commenced production of the new Safari at the company’s facility in Pune. In case you missed the whole story, Tata Motors decided to re-brand the 7-seater version of the Harrier from ‘Gravitas’ to Safari as the styling of the vehicle kinda made sense. The official unveiling is scheduled for 26th January 2021.

The images we’re seeing here are of the final production version and as we can see, the Safari retains all of the styling elements from Gravitas including the wheel design. More details will be revealed on the aforementioned date, but one thing we can be sure of is that the Safari will borrow the 2.0L turbo diesel engine from the Harrier. While the original Safari offered a 4WD variant, it is unlikely that the new iteration will offer any, at least not at launch.
