2nd-gen Mercedes-Benz GLA launched at Rs 42.10 lakh

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA has now arrived in India, with introductory prices starting at INR 42.10 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. The GLA lineup in India also includes the AMG 35 4Matic variant, but not the AMG 45 4Matic+. Variant-wise ex-showroom prices are mentioned below; these prices are valid till 30 June 2021 and Mercedes suggested that the prices may go up by up to INR 1.5 lakh from July 1 2021 depending on the variant.

The 2nd-gen GLA made its global debut along with the AMG 35 sibling in December 2019, followed by the AMG 45 variant in March 2020.

Depending on the variant, features list includes Multibeam LED headlights, adaptive LED taillights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a 10.25-inch driver display, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, sports seats (AMG), and AMG Ride Control suspension with electronically controlled dampers. The GLA 200 is powered by a 1.33-litre (1,332 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 120 kW (163 metric hp) at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque between 1,620-4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT that drives the front wheels.

The GLA 220d is powered by a 2.0-litre (1,950 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that develops 140 kW (190 metric hp) at 3,800 rpm and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque between 1,600-2,600 rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed DCT that can drive the front wheels or all four wheels (4Matic) depending on the specification.

The AMG 35 4Matic packs a 2.0-litre (1,991 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 225 kW (306 metric hp) at 5,800 rpm and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque between 3,000-4,000 rpm. An 8-speed DCT drives all four wheels. A 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is claimed to happen in 5.1 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
