The original “10-second car”

The A80 Toyota Supra from the first two installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, driven by Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), is headed to the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas (June 17-19, 2021).

According to Craig Lieberman, technical advisor on the first two Fast & Furious films, this car was brought back in 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious, modified by the original builder — Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California. Repainted in gold and sporting an all-new body kit.

The Supra was later returned to its original form, finished with Lamborghini Diablo Candy Orange Pearl paint and famed Troy Lee-designed “Nuclear Gladiator” motif along the side. Rounding off the looks are Bomex front spoiler and side skirts, TRD-style hood, APR aluminum biplane rear wing, and 19-inch Dazz Motorsport Racing Hart M5 Tuner wheels.

Under the hood is the legendary 2JZ-GTE 3.0L in-line 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine, hooked up with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

On offer with No Reserve as Lot #744 at the said auction, the car comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity”, indicating that this particular car was used in the Fast & Furious movies.
