2022-Kia-Soul_facelift

Kia has updated the Soul for 2022 for the U.S. market with new logos, upgraded onboard technology and trim revisions. Prices start at $19,190. Trim-wise prices are listed below —

Trim MSRP (excludes $1,175 destination)
LX 2.0L AT $19,190
S 2.0L AT $21,490
X-Line 2.0L AT $22,590
GT-Line 2.0L AT $22,590
EX 2.0L AT $23,490
Turbo 1.6T AT $27,790

That’s right, as the above list suggests, the LX trim with manual transmission is no longer available. Kia didn’t share the reason, but it is most likely the obvious one — lack of demand. Responding to an email, a Kia spokesperson said the following —

Kia America continuously studies the market and adjusts its product offerings accordingly. Should the appropriate business condition present itself, Kia America will act accordingly.

Visually, the Soul gets Kia’s new logo on the hood, liftgate and wheel center caps. Other than that, the rest of the vehicle remains pretty much unchanged. Steel Gray color replaces Sparkling Silver on LX, S and EX trims.

Inside, the S, X-Line and GT-Line trims get a standard 10.25-inch central touchscreen with navigation, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, wireless smartphone charger and dual USB chargers. The LX trim now gets an 8.0-inch central touchscreen as standard (up one inch compared to 2021 model).

Kia is offering a new LX Technology Package that adds 16-inch alloy wheels and several ADAS including Blind Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Warning.

Powertrains
For starters, there’s a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 110 kW (150 metric hp) and 179 Nm (132 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a CVT. Those looking for some fun can go for a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 150 kW (204 metric hp) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 7-speed DCT. The all-electric e-Soul is not (yet) available in the U.S.
