Tata Tigor EV facelift revealed, bookings open

Although the Tigor EV was made available to personal buyers as well in late 2019, it didn’t achieve the same success as the Nexon EV, mostly due to its mediocre performance—which is understandable because the Tigor EV was designed for fleet operators anyway. However, the new one offers both looks and a bit more performance.

The styling is in line with the ICE-powered Tigor facelift with the color combination in line with the Nexon EV. There’ll be only two trims—XM and XZ+, and only one color which is the Teal Blue—with black dual-tone option available on the XZ+. Bookings are open for a deposit of INR 21,000.

The fresh cabin now offers a lot more compared to a rather boring fleet operator-focused dashboard of the outgoing model. Features include a larger MID and a 7-inch central touchscreen.

As for the juicy bits, the electric motor now offers 55 kW (75 metric hp) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque, which might not sound a lot compared to the Nexon EV, but significantly more compared to the outgoing model‘s mediocre figures. Tata claims a 0-60 km/h (37 mph) sprint time of 5.7 seconds. The new Tigor EV also boasts a 26 kWh battery pack (IP 67 rated), which is up by 4.5 kWh. Tata hasn’t disclosed the official range yet, but you can expect that number to be over 220 km (136+ mi).

Tata is offering an 8 year and 160,000 km (99,419 mi) battery and motor warranty, respectively.
