Apollo unveils Project EVO — Intensa Emozione successor

Apollo Automobil has unveiled the Intensa Emozione successor along with an all-electric concept at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. Tentatively named Project EVO, the IE successor takes the IE’s bonkers design and pushes it to the max and then some.

There’s even more drama in the design compared with the IE with elements such as star shaped running lights; arrow shaped clamshell that runs from the nose of the hypercar and covers the front wheel arches; more dramatic taillights inspired by a star, and Apollo’s signature triple exhaust pipes. Those engine vents/louvers add more to the drama. It appears that there’s also an active wing at the rear, in between those taillights.

As you might expect, the cockpit is just as dramatic as the exterior. The driver has a triple display pod with the outer displays for the mirror cameras. Not much details are available at the moment, except that the Project EVO is built around an advanced carbon monocoque.

The second vehicle Apollo showcased was the EVision concept which appears to be a four-door electric coupe. Unlike the busy and bonkers looks of the IE and its successor EVO, the EVision sports a clean styling with minimal lines. Apollo is also working on the EVision X electric SUV.

Apollo also showcased a Crate Powertrain with an 800-volt architecture. It features a 3 in 1 Dual Inverter (1 PDU & 2 Inverters) with the latest generation 800-volt Silicon Carbide Technology for high efficiency. Two new 800-volt Axial Flux e-motors are mounted within the chassis and coupled with planetary gearboxes.
