2022 Ford Mondeo shows off its exterior styling

Ford has officially unveiled the 5th generation Mondeo sedan for the Chinese market, but we ain’t got full details just yet. It appears that the marketing team’s strategy (of any carmaker) to reveal a new car these days is to reveal only the exterior first, followed by the interior after a few days, and finally the rest of the information at another date. A one-time full reveal has become the thing of the past. But anyway, the new Mondeo has been roaming around the world sans camouflage since last year, and everyone knew how the new car is gonna look.

There are no changes in its styling; the production model looks the same as it looked during testing recently, which is, of course, a good thing. Thanks to the C2 platform, the new Mondeo has grown in dimensions; it is now 63 mm longer and 23 mm wider than the previous model. Also, an additional 95 mm wheelbase suggests generous space inside.

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a display panel that appears to stretch all the way to the passenger, just like how it does in the Lincoln Zephyr. You can expect the Mondeo to pack all the latest tech, including a cutting-edge ADAS suite.

Ford didn’t share anything on the powertrain either, but the new Mondeo will most likely be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, paired with 8-speed automatic transmission.
