Opel is celebrating 40 years of Corsa with the “Corsa 40 Years” special edition, which will go on sale in the coming weeks in select markets in Europe. The special edition is limited to 1,982 units, the number that alludes to the original production year, and comes with a new exterior paint called ‘Rekord Red’, which is reminiscent of the red used on the original Corsa A.

The striking red paint is contrasted with black elements such as the grille with the Blitz logo; mirror caps; roof; tailgate badging, and of course, the 17-inch wheels. The gloss black wheels have inserts in matt grey.

Inside, you’ll get a special plaque on the dashboard that records what number your car is within the 1,982 units, and a modern interpretation of the original tartan seat upholstery.

No mechanical changes, obviously; the Corsa is currently in its 6th generation and offers an all-electric variant in addition to regular petrol and diesel options.
