Porsche India (part of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd) delivered 378 new cars in the country during the first half of 2022, registering a growth of 118% compared with the same period last year. The company said that the first half of 2022 was its best-ever first half. The sales were led by, as you might have guessed, Cayenne models with 167 units, followed by the Macan with 125 units and all-electric Taycan with 37 units. The 911 Coupe models sold 27 units while the Panamera with 19 units was not a bad number either. Porsche didn’t share what were the remaining 3 models.
“July marks 10 years of Porsche India serving this region and there’s no better way to acknowledge this than with our best ever half-year sales performance for the first half of 2022,” said Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India. “With the continued push towards electrification, we are heartened to see strong demand for the Taycan from day one, making it our third best-seller so far this year. We strongly believe that success breeds success and building on our 2021 performance which was our best full year since 2014 and our strong 2022 first half, we are delighted to welcome two new retail partners to the Porsche India network which will be announced in the coming months,” he added.
Earlier this year, KUN Premium Cars Pvt Ltd was appointed as the dealer partner for Chennai and VST Supercars Pvt Ltd as the dealer partner for Bengaluru.
