Toyota Yaris Cross GR Sport debuts with sporty suspension tuning

The latest Toyota model to get GR-ified is the Yaris Cross, scheduled to go on sale in Europe in Q3 2022. The Yaris Cross GR Sport sports subtle exterior sportiness combined with sporty suspension tuning.

On the exterior, the Yaris Cross GR Sport is distinguished by a GR-branded mesh pattern front grille, a diffuser-like insert on the rear bumper, GR-branding on the tailgate, and new 18-inch 10-spoke machine-finished alloy wheels. A new Dynamic Grey paint joins the color palette as the model’s signature color, with optional black roof and A- & B-pillars for a dual-tone theme. As for the suspension, Toyota claims to have sharpened-up the setup for better steering, roll and grip feel for the driver.

Inside, the seats get new grey upholstery with red contrast stitching and GR branding on the front seats. The contrast stitching can be found on the steering wheel and shift lever boot as well. Also, notice the GR branding on the steering wheel and starter button. Model-specific gunmetal silver accents in the doors and dashboard are some of the other key highlights of the Yaris Cross GR Sport. Premium black perforated Ultrasuede seats with leather-like bolsters and red contrast stitching are also available as options.

The rest of the things are gonna remain the same; I mean, the powertrain bits. In Europe, the Yaris Cross packs a hybrid powertrain—combining a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, a front electric motor and a CVT, offering a combined power output of 85 kW (116 metric hp).
