Jeep CJ Surge Concept is a cool electric restomod with a hot bikini top

One of the concepts Jeep is showcasing at this year’s SEMA Show is the CJ Surge Concept—which happens to be a classic Jeep CJ-inspired all-electric restomod or “electromod” as they’re known these days.

So, until you open the hood, you’d probably assume that this is just another awesome-looking classic Jeep CJ with some Mopar and aftermarket parts on it. But there are some subtle indicators such as those Surf Blue accents that offer a good contrast against Copper Canyon body paint. The CJ Surge concept rolls on matte black 18-by-9-inch Black Rhino Solid wheels wrapped with 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. You also get a 2-inch lift kit and Dana 44 Crate axles to ensure that you can do some serious off-roading.

A JPP Wrangler JK Rubicon Bumper Kit carries a JPP Rubicon Warn winch up front and is flanked on both sides by Surf Blue tow hooks and amber LED fog lamps. Underbody protection comes courtesy of JPP Rubicon skid and front-bumper plates and JPP rock rails. A custom BEV charge port is located just behind the driver-side door opening.

On the inside, you got sporty seats with Surf Blue contrast stitching; a rotary shifter knob; Mopar gauges including a charge indicator; a custom roll cage; Mopar all-weather floor mats, and of course, bikini top protection.

Under the hood lies a 200 kW (272 metric hp) motor paired with a two-speed transfer case in order to power all four wheels. A 400-volt lithium-ion battery pack comprises 24 modules, which should ensure a respectable range.
