The second-gen Opel Mokka which debuted in mid-2022 as an EV initially, has already received its first update. I’m not entirely sure if we can call this updated model a “facelift”, but it appears that there are some subtle visual tweaks as well. And yes, it is now called the ‘Mokka Electric’ as opposed to the original ‘Mokka-e’ moniker.

I know it’s hard to differentiate, but if you look carefully and compare, all the chrome/shiny bits have been darkened; these include the grille surround, bumper intake inserts, side window top outline, and quite possibly, the rear bumper insert as well. And of course, there’s a new set of black wheels as well. I’m not sure if all the dark elements are part of some optional pack, but I guess we will get more information closer to the sale date.

On the inside too, you probably won’t find too much difference, but let’s wait and see. Moving on to the main part of the story then, the front electric motor now offers 115 kW (156 metric hp)—up from 100 kW (136 metric hp), while the torque remains the same at 260 Nm (192 lb-ft). The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is less than 10 seconds and the top speed is limited to 150 km/h (93 mph).

The battery pack is now 54 kWh—up from 50 kWh, claiming to offer a WLTP range of up to 406 km (252 mi)—up from 335 km (208 mi). But remember, the claimed range depends on the driving mode you’re in.

The rest of the things remain the same. The driver gets to play with three modes: Normal, Eco and Sport. The battery pack can be DC fast-charged with up to 100 kW.
