Who would’ve imagined that one day, we get to see pickup trucks at the CES Show, but hey, that’s where the world is headed. And so, RAM is showcasing the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept at the CES 2023 Show in Las Vegas—billed as the segment-redefining model. The production model is expected to show up later this year and will go on sale sometime in 2024.

As the name suggests, we are looking at an all-electric version of the RAM 1500 lineup of trucks, but the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV sports a different design language, of course. The front fascia sports what is called a fully animated LED “tuning fork” design with illuminated R-A-M branding in the middle. On the side profile, you can notice that the Ram 1500 BEV has a more aerodynamic design compared with traditional pickup trucks; the windscreen is angled almost like that of a sedan.

The concept doesn’t have the B-pillars; meaning the rear doors are rear-hinged, offering a grand entrance into the back seats. But it remains to be seen if the production model too will have the rear-hinged rear doors.

Flush door handles, powered side steps, a powered tailgate, and a powered rear step with an active diffuser, are some of the other key highlights. You probably can’t see in the pictures here, but the concept features third-row jump seats integrated into the powered mid-gate. The jump seats’ lower part can be removed to be used in the bed or elsewhere. The concept rides on gigantic 24-inch rims wrapped with 35-inch tyres. A self-leveling system is another key highlight of the truck.

On the inside, notice that the “tuning fork” design is replicated on the dashboard in the form of ambient lighting. And, if you look carefully, the central touchscreen is actually comprised of two screens, offering a combined real estate of 28-inches. The lower display has three different positions depending on the task at hand—minimal view, extended view and full-screen view—and can also be removed and used if needed. The upper screen can also slide on the rail attachment system. The rearview mirror is packed with tech including a smart backup camera with 360-degree views; speakers and receivers compatible with voice assistants such as Alexa and Siri, and a supplementary backup flood lamp.

Augmented Reality (AR) head-up display, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered virtual assistant, and Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities are some of the other key highlights of the 2024 Ram 1500 BEV (concept).

The 2024 Ram 1500 BEV is gonna be a dual-motor all-wheel-drive model with undisclosed output figures. The 800-volt architecture enables DC fast-charging with up to 350 kW which is claimed to offer 100 miles (62 km) of range with just 10 minutes of charging. The adjustable air suspension offers three different modes: ingress/egress, aero and off-road. The four-wheel steering offers up to 15 degrees of articulation.
