2025 Cadillac OPTIQ to be an entry point for the brand’s EV lineup

When it comes to battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), Cadillac currently has the Lyriq SUV on sale (starting at $58,590), but as you might know, the brand’s BEV lineup will be joined by the Celestiq fastback sedan sometime early next year, followed by the Escalade IQ SUV in late 2024. The company has now announced the plans to introduce the Optiq SUV to its BEV lineup.

Unlike the mid-size Lyriq and full-size Escalade IQ, the Optiq is gonna be a compact offering, planned to be introduced in late 2024 as a 2025 model. Cadillac didn’t share any further information, but we know the compact SUV will be produced by the SAIC-GM joint venture in China.

Unconfirmed reports claim that the Optiq is nothing but Cadillac’s version of the Chevy Equinox EV, and we don’t have any reasons to doubt those claims. If the claims are true (most likely), you can expect the Optiq to offer up to 450 km range and over 290 metric hp. But let’s wait and see.

Cadillac says that the Optiq will act as an entry point for the brand’s EV lineup in North America, and it is claimed to offer “spirited driving dynamics”.
