Yamaha has introduced a range of GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) performance parts for Ténéré 700. Developed in collaboration with the Yamaha Rally team, these three kits are claimed to offer higher engine performance and rally-capable chassis tuning.
Available through European Yamaha dealerships, the first of the three kits is the Ténéré 700 World Raid GYTR Performance kit, which includes a lightweight race exhaust system from Akrapovič, with headers, slip-on muffler and end cap, all made from titanium. The kit also gets you a GYTR air filter kit, a GYTR ECU, a rally-spec seat, a footrest kit, and a clutch cover upgrade that allows easy access to the clutch’s inner workings for quick servicing. The performance upgrades are claimed to offer 9 hp more. The aforementioned seat offers a 25 mm increased height, however, it has been designed to allow the rider to cut the foam and create a customized shape to meet their own ergonomic requirements.
The second one is the Ténéré 700 World Raid GYTR Handling kit, which includes race-tuned 48 mm adjustable KYB closed cartridge forks with an increased stroke of 270 mm; a GYTR triple clamp assembly; a fully adjustable steering damper (25 settings); a fully adjustable Paioli shock absorber; GYTR rally wheels; bigger 300 mm disc at the front; Brembo calipers; GYTR Handling kit ECU that allows for the deletion of the ABS system and immobilizer; a lightweight chain and sprocket set with revised ratios; a new radiator assembly consisting of a bigger radiator and separate oil cooler; a black anodized GYTR radiator guard, and a GYTR high front fender.
The third one is the Ténéré 700 World Raid GYTR Rally kit, which offers larger capacity fuel tanks (including auxiliary tanks at the rear) with a total capacity of 37.6 litres. The tanks are also fitted with dedicated race filler caps to allow for rapid refueling. The GYTR handlebar kit comes with a quick-action throttle assembly, hand guards and brackets to allow the rider to attach their personal navigation equipment. The Rally kit also includes a new set of indicator and warning lights, a headlight tower kit with four high-performance spotlights and a new polycarbonate screen to offer protection to both the rider and the headlights.
The kit also includes a GYTR carbon fibre and Kevlar skid plate and a comprehensive sticker kit to create a replica inspired by the upcoming GYTR Africa Eco Rally machine. Last but not least, you get the GYTR wiring harness, designed to facilitate the fitting of the kit parts. The loom is lighter than standard and requires the removal of the ABS and immobilizer.
