An official brochure of India-spec Maruti Suzuki Ignis mini crossover leaks out ahead of its EDM launch on January 13th, revealing full details. Although its hard to read those letters on a spy shot, here’s everything I could read.

As we know already, Ignis will be sold via Maruti’s Nexa outlets, and will come in 4 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

Engines – As expected, Ignis will be offered in two familiar powertrains. The 1.2 litre (1197 cc) 4 Cylinder VVT petrol producing 82 hp (61 kw) @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 4200 rpm. On the diesel side, the tried and tested 1.3 litre (1248 cc) 4 Cylinder DDiS producing 74 hp (55.2 kw) @ 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. Transmission options are 5 Speed manual and an AMT. Note that the diesel is not available in the base Sigma, and the AMT is limited to Delta and Zeta variants only.

Standard Safety – ABS + EBD, dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, seat belt pre-tensioners with load limiters, speed sensing auto door locks and immobilizer are standard across the variants.

Equipment – The top of the line Alpha will get LED projector headlamps, DRLs, smartplay touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, reversing camera, Suzuki SLDA remote app and driver’s seat height adjustment. The Delta and Zeta will get a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, USB connectivity and steering mounted controls. Push button start, fog lamps, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, rear wiper and 15 inch alloy wheels are limited to Zeta and Alpha. Except Sigma, the other 3 variants will come with remote keyless entry. Steering tilt adjustment is standard.

What’s really interesting is, the Sigma misses out on rear power windows, but gets driver auto down power window (standard feature).

Boot space with parcel tray is measured at 260 liters, and fuel tank capacity is at 32 liters. The kerb weight for petrol is around 825 – 860 kg, and 940 – 960 kg for the diesel. Turning radius is at 4.7 m. The India-spec Ignis wears 175/65R 15 tyres.
