Triumph has launched the Street Triple S in India, priced at Rs 8.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Internationally, there are ‘R’ and ‘RS’ variants too, while the ‘S’ is a base variant.

The new model is claimed to be lighter than its predecessor, with 6.6% more peak power. The 765 cc, in-line 3-cylinder motor produces 111.5 bhp (83 kW) @ 11,250 rpm and 73 Nm of torque @ 10,421 rpm, paired to a 6-Speed gearbox.

The bike gets ride-by-wire throttle, two riding modes, ABS, and switchable traction control. Since the ‘S’ is a base variant, it gets an LCD instrument cluster, compared to a TFT screen on the RS.

Front suspension is a 41 mm upside down separate function forks, while the rear is an adjustable monoshock, both from Showa. Braking duties are handled by Nissin 310 mm twin discs with 2-piston sliding calipers at front, and the rear is a Brembo 220 mm fixed disc with single piston sliding caliper.

There are two colors on offer – Phantom Black and Diablo Red.
