Before the official world premiere on July 11 at the Audi Summit in Barcelona, Spain, the 4th generation Audi A8 is going to make “guest appearances” in the Marvel blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming. Which means the movie fans are the first ones to catch a glimpse of the car at the film premiere in Los Angeles on June 28.

Tom Holland, who plays ‘Peter Parker’ in the movie will be chauffeured around by ‘Happy Hogan’ (Jon Favreau) in the new Audi A8 L. Makes sense, as there’ll be a demonstration of highly automated driving in traffic jams, where the ‘Happy’ takes his hands off the steering wheel and, like magic, the A8 continues to turn all on its own, all thanks to the Audi AI traffic jam pilot, which has been developed in association with NVIDIA. Checkout its remote parking pilot below. The video below also gives a sneak peek of the tail lamps, which has been inspired by the Audi prologue concept.

So far, we know that the new A8 will have a mild-hybrid powertrain, and gets a noiseless coasting mode within the range of 55 to 160 km/h for up to 40 seconds with the engine completely turned off.

Audi says, the A8’s Space Frame chassis gets an intelligent mix of four materials for the first time, for a light-weight yet rigid construction.

In addition to the Audi A8, two other Audi models make guest appearances in the movie. ‘Tony Stark’ stays classy with the Audi R8 V10 Spyder, while the ‘Peter Parker’ drives an Audi TTS Roadster.
