Hyundai almost ready with a new compact SUV

When Hyundai showcased the Carlino concept at 2016 Auto Expo, the company wasn’t sure of getting into the sub-4 metre segment which is really a hot one in India. It seems like they couldn’t resist the temptation after all.

Codenamed QXi, a camouflaged prototype has begun its testing journey from the company’s plant in Chennai. The compact crossover will be driven across different geographies and weather conditions testing its mettle. Notice the car’s sunroof and dual lamp set-up from the teaser video.

Once launched, it’ll go against the likes of Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon, which all are a huge success in the country. The latest entrant in this segment was the XUV300.
