Volvo XC40 Recharge technical information

Volvo has revealed the full technical information of the all-electric XC40 Recharge that debuted in October 2019. The SUV is yet to go on sale and the following information is preliminary.

The information we already knew was that the XC40 Recharge is an AWD with two electric motors. What we didn’t know was that both motors will produce 150 kW (204 hp) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) each, bringing the total to 300 kW (408 hp) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque.

It is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).

The 78 kWh battery pack has a usable capacity of 75 kWh, and is claimed to get a range of up to 400 km or 249 miles (WTLP). The range as per EPA is about 200 miles (322 km).

As for charging times, 11 kW AC charging would take 7.5 hours. The battery pack is capable of 150 kW DC fast charging as well. With that, up to 80 percent charge from 10 percent is claimed to take approximately 40 minutes.
