One of the leading tyre manufacturers in India, JK Tyre, hosted an event in Bengaluru to showcase their Smart Tyre technology to bloggers and influencers. The company has created a new sub-brand called Treel.
Essentially, it’s an after-market Tyre Pressure Monitoring System that is available for four-wheelers, motorcycles and even for a fleet of trucks. Under the Treel brand, the company is also offering Tyre Management as a Service (TMaaS) for fleet owners.
For a four-wheeler, for example, the kit comprises IoT-based TPMS sensors and valves. The sensor design is slightly different for motorcycles. The battery life is claimed to last for over 5 years, and the connectivity range is up to 200 feet. The owners will get real-time information about the tyres on their smartphone via Treel app. In addition, buyers can add a GPS tracking device called MTrac, which can track the vehicle and send information such as trip data and speed alerts.
The Smart Tyre solution is equipped with some exciting advanced functionalities that will provide real-time information about the health of the tyres via Smart Sensors, which enhances the safety, security and performance of vehicles.
