MG Motor India announced a retail sales of 2,105 units in July 2020, registering a growth of 40% compared to 1,508 units retailed in July 2019. The SAIC-backed company launched the 3-row Hector Plus recently, which brings the total number of products in its India portfolio to 3.

The overall market environment continues to be challenging with uncertainties due to variable lockdowns in various phases. The component supplies continue to remain impacted especially from the Chennai region. However, despite these challenges, our production has remained at similar levels in July as compared to June 2020 and we expect the situation to improve during the festival season. – Rakesh Sidana, Director of Sales, MG Motor India

MG has also manufactured ventilators in association with Vadodara-based MAX Ventilators at the latter’s plant in Vadodara last month.

MG’s next product in India is expected to be a Fortuner rival called Gloster — a re-badged Maxus D90 that is on sale in China and Australia.
