Will Skoda Kushaq pishaq the Creta and Seltos?

Skoda is busy testing the Kushaq crossover, the brand’s first model based on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform. Its global debut will happen in India, obviously, in March 2021.

Skoda has shared a few more information such as the crossover will have a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, which is 41 mm more compared to the second gen Hyundai Creta and of course, its “badass” cousin the Kia Seltos. The size of the wheelbase also suggests that the Kushaq is not a sub-4 metre crossover like the Vitara Brezza or the Venue/Sonet.

As for the features, the Kushaq will have LED headlights, LED taillights, rain sensor, auto AC, cruise control, Hill-Hold Control, up to 6 airbags, ESC (standard on all trims), and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

The Kushaq will offer 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engines, with three gearbox options depending on the model/trim: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG. All gearboxes will drive the front wheels. No, there won’t be any AWD; not at launch.

BTW, has the name ‘Kushaq’ grown on you yet? Let me know in the comments down below.
