BMW R nineT and R nineT Scrambler launched in India

BMW Motorrad has launched the new R nineT and R nineT Scrambler in India, priced at INR 18,50,000 and INR 16,75,000, ex-showroom, respectively. The motorcycles are brought to the country as completely built-up units (CBU).

Standard features include LED headlight, Rain & Road riding modes, and Automatic Stability Control (ASC). The R nineT Scrambler gets a USB charging socket too. There are a bunch of options including Riding modes PRO and cruise control and heated grips.

Suspension duties in the R nineT are handled by a 46 mm upside-down telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear with adjustable preload and rebound. The front suspension on the Scrambler is a 43 mm telescopic fork. The disc brakes on both motorcycles measure 320 mm at the front and 265 mm at the rear. BMW Motorrad ABS Pro comes standard.

Powering these classic motorcycles is a 1.2-litre (1,170 cc) two-cylinder boxer engine that develops 80 kW (109 metric hp) at 7,250 rpm and 116 Nm (85.5 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

As for body colors, the R nineT is available in Black Storm Metallic, Night Black Matt/Aluminium Matt, Mineral White Metallic/Aurum, and Option 719 Aluminium finishes. As for Scrambler, it offers Kalamata Metallic Matt, Granite Grey Metallic, Cosmic Blue Metallic/Light White Uni, and Black Storm Metallic/Racing Red paint finishes.
