It’s just a matter of time before the smart brand stops producing cute city cars and joins the SUV bandwagon; the plans are already underway. In the meantime, Brabus has injected some dark looks into the smart EQ fortwo cabrio.

The sporty looks of the Brabus 92R comprise a sporty front bumper with spoiler, rocker panels on the side, a rear diffuser, carbon fibre-design mirror caps, and of course, red accents. The city car rides on Monoblock IX alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black, measuring 16-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear. The Brabus coilover sports suspension lowers the ride height by 25 mm.

The cabin features seats upholstered in Brabus red leather with quilted surfaces, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a red top center marker, and carbon design elements throughout.

The smart EQ fortwo cabrio is an electric vehicle. It has got a single electric motor at the rear, developing 68 kW (92 metric hp) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque in the Sport+ mode. Compared to the stock tune, the Brabus 92R boasts 10 metric hp and 20 Nm more. In the Sport+ mode, the 92R claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). Depending on the driving style, the 17.2 kWh battery pack can offer a range of up to 125 km (78 mi).

The Brabus 92R is limited to 50 units, with each costing €46,284.
