2022 Maserati GranTurismo prototype shows off its electrified camo

2022-Maserati-GranTurismo-prototype-teaser

Maserati is busy working on the successor of the GranTurismo which bid goodbye in November 2019 with a special one-off named Zéda. A prototype of the new model headed out on the streets of Modena, showcasing its special camouflage with blue Maserati wordmarks, suggesting an electrified powertrain under the hood.

The wheels with flat surfaces also tell us an electrifying story. The long hood also suggests that the GranTurismo retains the front-mid-engine layout. The front-end styling including the headlights might remind you of the MC20. Maserati didn’t reveal any technical details yet, obviously, but it said that the “new GranTurismo will be the brand’s first car to adopt a 100% electric solution”. A petrol version is also expected to be offered with MC20’s twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine.
