Genesis G80 Sport debuts with a new color & rear-wheel steering

2022-Genesis-G80-Sport

Genesis has revealed a hotter variant of G80 named G80 Sport, scheduled to go on sale in the third quarter of 2021. As the name suggests, the G80 Sport sports more sporty looks compared to the business looks of the G80; a new exterior color, and a spiced-up cabin.

The G80 Sport gets a new exclusive color called ‘Cavendish Red’, which according to Genesis, was inspired by the famous red cliffs in Canada’s Prince Edward Island. Other than that, a sporty front bumper with black inserts, darkened headlights, dark chrome surround for the grille, 20-inch alloy wheels with G-Matrix Pattern, and black or red-painted calipers add to the car’s sporty looks. The rear bumper too has a subtle difference, but it is barely noticeable.

Inside, the G80 Sport gets a model-specific three-spoke steering wheel, and dashboard garnish in three different choices including Sport-exclusive real aluminum, real carbon, and a diamond-patterned hybrid weave pattern. The interior color theme offers two options: black monotone with a choice of gray or red stitching, and Sevilla red. The G80 Sport-exclusive seat quilting offers a choice between a diamond or a V pattern.

Genesis has kept the technical details for another date, but said that the G80 Sport will offer rear-wheel steering.
