Bugatti Chiron Profilée sold for €9.8 million

Bugatti-Chiron-Profilée-RM-Sotheby-auction

The Bugatti Chiron Profilée, the one-off which debuted last December as the last W16-powered Bugatti, managed to fetch nearly €9.8 million at the RM Sotheby’s auction which took place in Paris on February 1st, 2023.

The winning bid of €9,792,500 net (US$ 1,06,65,400 or INR 87,73,12,280) apparently includes a buyer’s premium. We don’t know whose garage the Profilée is joining, but RM Sotheby’s Marcus Görig says that there were bidders not only in the room but also on the telephone. Which could mean that we may never know who the mysterious bidder was.

But anyway, Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti Automobiles, seemed very happy with the sale. “With just one Chiron Profilée ever set to exist, it was important for us to offer the opportunity to acquire this piece of history to as many people as possible and we were excited with the enthusiasm of the global automotive community for this very special car. Bidders clearly recognized the importance and value of the Chiron Profilée, with an intense rivalry and a price that places this car firmly into the history books,” he said.
