Tata Motors has launched the Altroz facelift in the country, with introductory prices starting at Rs 6.89 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Altroz continues to be available with petrol, diesel, and petrol/CNG powertrain options.

Variants Smart Pure Creative Accomplished
1.2L petrol 6.89 7.69 8.69 9.99
1.2L petrol/CNG 7.89 8.79 9.79 11.09
1.5L diesel 8.99 11.29

Sunroof Option available in Pure and Creative variants.

The Altroz facelift gets significant styling revisions both on the front and rear fascias compared with the original one. On the front, there’s a new grille and LED headlight combo, plus an angular bumper design with LED fog lights. The rear end features a light bar and an angular bumper design. On the side, the thicker beltline has been reduced for a more cleaner look, plus, the front door handles are now flush-fit. Furthermore, there’s a new set of 16-inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels.

There are significant changes on the inside too. There’s a brand new dashboard, centre console, and of course, a new steering wheel too. Depending on the variant, key features include a 10.2-inch digital cluster, a 10.2-inch infotainment display (UX designed by Harman), AudioWorX (customizable audio modes), air purifier, voice-assisted electric sunroof, a wireless smartphone charging pad, iRA connected car tech, and height-adjustable driver seat. 6 airbags are standard across the lineup, while the Blind Spot Monitor is exclusive to Accomplished+ S variant.

The Altroz continues to be powered by the same set of powertrains. The petrol is a 1.2L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’, offering 65 kW (88 metric hp) and 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission options this time include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed DCT, or a 5-speed AMT. I’m not sure what’s the point of offering these many options on a naturally aspirated engine, because most people don’t know or don’t understand the difference between a DCT and an AMT; they just want “an automatic”.

The CNG offers a bit less output figures: 54 kW (73.5 metric hp) and 103 Nm (77 lb-ft). This model is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The diesel is a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged ‘Revotorq’, offering 66 kW (90 metric hp) and 200 Nm (147.5 lb-ft). That’s quite an amount of torque. This model too is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The facelifted turbo petrol variant may arrive at a later date.
