Vision BMW Alpina debuts with clean styling and a V8

As you know, BMW has launched the Alpina as a standalone brand, one that sits above the M division. At the 2026 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, the company showcased the Vision BMW Alpina, a two-door coupe concept that’ll be the first offering under the new luxury standalone brand. The production model is expected to debut sometime next year.

If I understood the official press release correctly, the Vision BMW Alpina is built around the 7 Series platform. It has got fairly clean styling compared with what we’ve been seeing lately, and the Kidney grille appears to be fairly proportional to the rest of the body. The bevelled design of the Kidney grille was apparently inspired by that of the 507. At 5,200 mm long and significantly wide, the Vision BMW Alpina has a substantial road presence, indeed.

Deco-lines have been part of Alpina’s language since 1974. For the Vision BMW Alpina, the modernized deco-lines are painted on the side of the body beneath a clear coat. The concept rides on a staggered wheel setup of 22-inch at the front and 23-inch at the rear. The wheels feature a traditional multi-spoke design; 20 spokes to be specific.

Inside, the Neue Klasse vibes are a bit strong here, which I think is fairly obvious. But there are Alpina-specific touches, such as the steering wheel, centre console, and seats. As you can see, the Vision BMW Alpina is a four-seater, and the centre console in the back is motorized. The console houses a glass water bottle and crystal glasses that rise on a self-deploying mechanism.

What powers the Vision BMW Alpina? Well, those quad exhaust tips at the back give some hints. The official statement suggests a V8, most likely a 4.0L biturbo V8.
