Skoda’s first ever SUV, the Kodiaq’s launch in the Indian market is not too far away, as the SUV has been spotted testing for the first time in India, undisguised, somewhere in Pune.

Premiered in Berlin last year, the Kodiaq was designed by Jozef Kabaň, who recently moved to BMW. The SUV is on sale in the European markets, with prices starting from £21,495 OTR in UK. There are 3 engine options in the UK. The 1.4 TSI with 125 PS or 150 PS, 2.0 TSI with 180 PS, and the 2.0 TDI with 3 states of tune – 115 PS, 150 PS and 190 PS. Depending on the engine, there is 6-Speed manual or a 7-Speed DSG. The bigger engine gets 4WD hardware.

The Kodiaq is built on the MQB platform, which is shared with several other VW Group cars, including Octavia, Superb, and Audi Q2.

The Euro-spec Kodiaq comes equipped with leather/alcantara interiors, 8 inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, rain & light sensors, cruise control, tinted windows, rear parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, 19 inch rims, and generous amount of safety kit, such as, High Beam Assist, Lane Assist, and Blind Spot Detection. Its interesting to know how many of these features will make it to the Indian market.
