MINI Countryman gets Boardwalk limited edition

MINI-Countryman-Boardwalk

Mini has revealed the Countryman Boardwalk, available in three model variants: Cooper Countryman Boardwalk, Cooper S Countryman Boardwalk and Cooper S Countryman ALL4 Boardwalk. The name of the edition apparently refers to the promenades of traditional seaside resorts in the British home of the Mini brand.

More specifically, the characteristic pattern of the wooden beams laid longitudinally and diagonally on the promenades serve as the inspiration for the Boardwalk emblem. As for the color of the vehicle itself, it is finished in a Deep Laguna metallic, a shimmering blue tone that was previously developed for the Mini Convertible Sidewalk edition. Black roof and mirror caps add the contrast.

The Boardwalk logo can be found in the cabin as well; on the door sills and on the passenger side of the dashboard. No mechanical changes; the powertrains are the same as we saw in the Countryman facelift. The Cooper Countryman Boardwalk is powered by a 136 hp 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, while the Cooper S Countryman Boardwalk packs a 178 hp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

As an alternative to the standard 6-speed manual transmission, a 7-speed DCT is available for both the Cooper Countryman Boardwalk and the Cooper S Countryman Boardwalk. The AWD model is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard.
