Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) sold a total of (domestic + exports) 160,226 vehicles in December 2020, registering a growth of 20.2% compared to 133,296 vehicles sold in December 2019. The total domestic sales include 3,808 units to Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Exports grew by 31.4%. With total sales of 495,897 units in Q3 (FY 2020-21), the Company registered a growth of 13.4% over the same period the previous year.
People seem to be losing interest in the ‘Mini’ segment that includes Alto and S-Presso, while the ‘Compact’ segment with WagonR, Swift and Baleno, registered a growth of over 18% last month. The Ciaz sales have dipped again. The UV segment with Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and S-Cross, saw a growth of 8% in December 2020. The Eeco van appears to be doing well. In the LCV segment, the Super Carry continues to sell in large quantities.
